About - ItsDogGoneGood

Several years ago I gave my best friend a nice tote bag with a parrot on the front. We both thought it was so colorful and perfect for the bird-lover, which she was. The only thing wrong was it had no pockets- a real "must" for my friend. She asked me if I could fix it so as to have pockets. Sure, said I. So, I set upon my new task. Now, being a graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University's theatre for the Arts and majoring in costume design, this project was right up my alley, so to speak. When it was completed, she was astonished and asked me to make her several more. That set me on my mission. I began making custom tote bags for everyone I knew and before I realized it, I had a full-blown business going. Four years ago I decided to take the project to the next level and invested in a commercial embroidery machine so I could embellish the bags with amazing designs not previously available. Over the past three years, I have taken a few more turns and created all sorts of embroidered items.
I only buy sustainable materials, and whenever possible I use recyclable items from local vendors. I am very into environmentally responsible production practices so fabric scraps are donated to other local vendors for use in jewelry-making or other craft projects. My suppliers are also eco-friendly and all packaging can be reused or recycled.
At this point in my life, I am all about enjoying those around me who want to have fun with my hand-made goodies and I encourage everyone to come play and learn and enjoy life.
